Maharashtra: Congress leader Vilaskaka Patil Undalkar passes away

The veteran leader breathed his last at the age of 85.

Senior Congress Leader and former Minister Vilaskaka Patil Undalkar passed away on Monday morning.

The veteran leader breathed his last at the age of 85.

For the last few days, he was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Satara.

His last rites will be performed at Undale village in Karad town.

Vilaskaka entered into politics in 1962 through the District Bank. He represented the Karad South Assembly constituency for 35 consecutive years.



He served as a minister for 12 years and held several portfolios.

In 2014, he had contested as an independent candidate after Congress fielded former Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan from Karad South.

Though he lost the seat, he lately took the initiative and aligned himself with Chavan for the party.
