The Maharashtra government had written a letter to Railways requesting that local train services may be made available to all ladies from 11 am to 3 pm and again from 7 pm onwards till the end of local services for the day, with effect from Saturday in Mumbai and MMR region. Citing 'COVID protocol', the proposal was referred to Railway Board. This created a confusion for women and many arrived at railway stations to check on the situation on Saturday morning.
