51-year-old Bernard Alexander was let go from his job at China Garden in April. After being laid off, he began working as a helper to dumpster truck drivers. With little income in 5 months, Bernard Alexander’s savings dwindled and he was forced to sleep under a bridge on Eastern Express Highway. Moved by his plight, highlighted in Mirror’s Sept 27 report, many readers offered help. And in those offers, Alexander found his escape. He has landed two job offers in the hospitality sector.
